The basics, in plain English.
Outdoor laser tag is a team game played with electronic guns. When you hit someone, the sensor in their gun records it, so nothing physical is fired and nothing hurts. At Yorkshire Outdoor Activity Park it’s played long-range, across real woodland, buildings, bridges and bunkers, not in a dark indoor arena.
£25 per person for a private 90-minute session, ages 12 and over, groups of 10 or more.
A long-range gun, camouflage clothing and goggles are included, with unlimited shots.
What it’s actually like.

Camouflage on, goggles down, and a whole woodland to fight across. The instructor sets the mission, and the game begins.
Every game has an objective, lives and scoring, explained before it starts. The guns are accurate over long distances, so you’re using cover, flanking and teamwork, not just running about.
With unlimited shots, there’s no ammunition to buy and nobody runs out halfway through a game.
How the kit works.
- Long-range gunsLightweight electronic guns built for outdoor play, accurate over long distances.
- The sensor is in the gunNo vest or bulky pack. It records every hit, your lives and eliminations.
- Goggles for the woodsNothing is fired. Goggles protect your eyes from branches and structures.
The game zones.
Your instructor chooses zones such as the Village, the Bunker, the Airfield and the Bridge to suit your group on the day. These are the same permanent zones used for paintball, built up since 1988.
Who it suits, and who it doesn’t.
Great for
- Hen parties and mixed groups. Active and competitive, with no paint and no impact.
- Anyone nervous about paintball. Nothing is fired.
- Birthdays from age 12 and team days.
Better options if
- Children are under 12. Junior Laser Tag runs from School Year 1.
- You want real hits. Paintball is the full experience.
- You’re fewer than 10. The minimum group is 10.

Your questions, answered.
Does laser tag hurt?
No. No physical projectile is fired. Hits are recorded electronically by the sensor built into the gun.
Is the session private?
Yes. Every standard laser tag booking is private to your group.
Do we wear vests?
No. The sensor is built into the gun, so there’s no separate vest or chest pack.
Why wear goggles if nothing is fired?
Because you’re moving through real woodland and structures. Goggles protect your eyes from branches, not from the laser tag.
Is it suitable for beginners?
Yes. The instructor explains the equipment, the scoring and every game before play begins.
Is laser tag good for a hen party?
Very. It’s active and competitive, with no paint, no impact, no ammunition to buy and no experience needed.
