1Who we are
Yorkshire Outdoor Activity Park is the controller of the personal information described here. Contact us about privacy at:
- Yorkshire Outdoor Activity Park, Escrick Park Estate, Broad Lane, Skipwith, Selby, North Yorkshire YO8 5SW.
- Phone 01757 289322 or email enquiries@yorkshireoutdooractivitypark.co.uk.
2What we collect
Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:
- your name, email address and phone number
- enquiry details you send through our forms, by email or by phone
- booking details: activity, date, group size, package, extras and payment status
- participant form details for each person taking part: name, age or school year, emergency contact, and any health information you choose to give us so we can keep people safe
- parent or guardian details for participants under 18
- records of our correspondence with you
- technical information such as IP address, browser type and security logs
- your cookie choices, and website-usage information if you allow analytics cookies
3How we use it, and why we're allowed to
To take and manage your booking, send confirmations and participant forms, and run your activity (performing our contract with you).
To keep everyone safe on the day, including using health or accessibility information you provide (with your consent, and where needed to protect someone's vital interests).
To answer enquiries and look after our customers (our legitimate interests).
To keep records for accounting, insurance and legal reasons (legal obligation and legitimate interests).
To understand how our website is used and improve it, and to measure which adverts or pages lead to bookings (your consent, through our cookie banner).
4Who we share it with
We only share information with organisations that help us run the park and the website, and only as much as they need:
- our website hosting and email providers
- our booking system and payment provider (to take payments securely)
- Google, for website analytics, only if you consent to analytics cookies
- our professional advisers and insurers, where needed
- the police or other authorities, where the law requires it
If you book an event run with a partner (the 1989 Club, Halo Mill or Zombie Uprising), that partner handles your booking under its own privacy policy.
We never sell your personal information.
5International transfers
Some of our providers (Google, for example) may process information outside the UK. Where they do, it's protected by appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.
6How long we keep it
We keep booking records and participant forms for as long as we need them for the event, our accounts, insurance and any potential legal claims. Where the participant is a child, that can be longer, because the time limits for claims are longer. General enquiries that don't lead to a booking are deleted when they're no longer needed. Analytics data is kept according to our Google Analytics retention settings.
7Keeping it safe
We use secure (HTTPS) connections, restrict access to people who need it, and keep our website and systems updated.
8Children
Many of our activities are for children, but we collect children's information from their parent, guardian or the group organiser, not from the children directly.
9Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your information
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your information where we no longer need it
- restrict or object to how we use it
- transfer it to you or someone else in a usable format
You can withdraw consent at any time, for example by changing your cookie choices. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We'll reply within one month.
10Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).
11Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when the way we use information changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
