The short version
- Book online and pay in full, or book by phone with a £100 deposit and pay the balance the week before.
- Cancel more than 14 days before your date for a full refund. Within 14 days, payments aren't refunded, but we'll always try to move your date.
- Rain doesn't normally stop play. If we postpone for safety, you get a new date or booking credit.
- Everyone e-signs a participant form, shared from your booking portal. Under-18s need a parent or guardian's signature and a responsible adult on site.
- Follow the safety briefing and your marshals, and no alcohol or drugs before or during any activity.
- Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
1Who we are
These terms are between you and Yorkshire Outdoor Activity Park ("we", "us", "our"). "You" means the person making the booking (the organiser) and, where it makes sense, everyone taking part in that booking.
- Yorkshire Outdoor Activity Park, Escrick Park Estate, Broad Lane, Skipwith, Selby, North Yorkshire YO8 5SW.
- Phone 01757 289322 or email [email protected].
2How these terms work
These terms apply to activities booked on this website, by phone or in person. By making a booking, the organiser confirms they have read them and will share the relevant parts (especially safety, age and registration requirements) with their group.
Each activity page sets out that activity's price, minimum age or school year, session length, group size, what's included and whether it's private. That information forms part of your booking.
3Making a booking
Book on our Book an Activity page: choose your activity, package and group size, then pick a date and time from live availability. Your booking is confirmed when you receive our confirmation. Until then, a date showing on the website isn't guaranteed.
The organiser is responsible for:
- giving us accurate booking details
- checking the activity suits everyone taking part
- making sure the group meets the age, school-year and minimum-number requirements
- paying any balance on time
- sharing the participant form and our safety information with the group
4Prices and paying
Prices are per person unless we say otherwise, and include the kit and supervision listed for that activity. The price shown when you book is the price you pay, unless there's an obvious pricing error.
Online bookings are paid in full when you book. Phone bookings can usually be secured with a £100 deposit, with the balance due during the week before your event. One organiser can pay for the whole group.
Optional extras, such as extra paintballs, upgraded markers, smoke grenades, party food and party rooms, are charged separately at the prices shown.
We may change prices for future bookings, but we won't change the agreed price of a confirmed booking unless you change the booking.
5Event days run with partners
Some events at the park are booked through partners: Paintball Walk-on Days through the 1989 Club, Airsoft Skirmish Days (Proving Grounds) through Halo Mill, and Zombie Uprising through Zombie Uprising. When you book these, the partner's booking terms apply as well as our site and safety rules on the day.
6Group sizes and private sessions
Most activities have a minimum booking size, shown on the activity page. If fewer people come than you booked, that doesn't create a refund for the unused places.
Many activities are private to your group. Standard Saturday paintball isn't automatically private, so you may share game groups with other bookings, but people who book together always stay together.
If you have fewer than the online minimum, call us. We can sometimes fit smaller groups into an existing session.
7Changing or cancelling your booking
More than 14 days before your event: payments are refunded in full, unless a deposit was clearly described as non-refundable before you paid.
14 days or less before your event: payments aren't refunded, because there isn't enough time to re-book the session.
Not turning up doesn't create a right to a refund.
Need to move your date? Tell us as soon as possible. We'll always try to help, subject to availability.
Bookings for leisure activities on a specific date are excluded from the usual 14-day cooling-off period for online purchases. This doesn't affect your other statutory rights.
8If we change, postpone or cancel
Safety comes first. We may change, postpone or cancel an activity because of high winds, lightning, unsafe site conditions, equipment or infrastructure problems, or events outside our reasonable control.
Ordinary rain, cold and light snow don't normally stop activities. Archery, axe throwing and air rifles run on covered ranges.
If we postpone, we'll offer you another date or booking credit. If we cancel and can't offer a suitable alternative, we'll refund what you've paid for that activity.
Some details of an activity, like the exact game zones, scenarios or running order, may change with numbers, weather or conditions. Any change will be reasonable and won't change the essential nature of what you booked.
If the park is open and your activity is going ahead but you choose not to come (because of the weather, for example), that counts as a cancellation by you.
9On the day
Please arrive 30 minutes before your start time (11:30am for Saturday paintball) for registration, kit and the safety briefing. Safety briefings are compulsory, and nobody can take part until they've had theirs.
If you're running late, call us. Late arrival can shorten your session.
10Ages, under-18s and registration
Each activity has a minimum age or school year, shown on its page. Where we use school years, eligibility is based on the school year the participant is in.
Everyone taking part e-signs a participant form. After booking, the organiser opens their booking portal and shares the form with the group. Forms can also be completed when you arrive.
For anyone under 18, a parent or guardian must sign the form, and at least one responsible adult must stay on site with the group throughout. A teacher, coach or recognised group leader can act as the responsible adult for an organised group.
Where adults join a children's session, they pay the same price per person and follow the same rules.
11Health, accessibility and suitability
Our activities take place outdoors, on uneven ground, in woodland and around permanent structures, and some involve physical movement and impact.
If you're unsure whether an activity suits someone because of a medical condition, disability, injury, pregnancy or anything else, please call us before booking. We'll explain what's involved and make reasonable adjustments where we can. Each participant remains responsible for deciding whether they can take part.
12Safety rules
Everyone must follow the safety briefing, our site and equipment rules, and instructions from our instructors and marshals. These include wearing protective equipment where required, keeping masks on in game zones, minimum shooting distances and safe-area rules.
Anyone who ignores safety instructions, misuses equipment or puts themselves or others at risk may be stopped from taking part or asked to leave. If that happens because of their own conduct, no refund is due.
13Alcohol and drugs
Anyone who is, or appears to be, under the influence of alcohol or drugs won't be allowed to take part, and no refund is due. This applies especially to axe throwing and all shooting activities.
Smoke grenades, where available, are for participants aged 18 and over only.
14Equipment
Equipment we supply stays our property. Please use it only as instructed, tell us if anything looks damaged, and return it when asked. We may charge the reasonable cost of repair or replacement for equipment deliberately or recklessly damaged or lost.
Where an event allows your own equipment (such as walk-on and skirmish days), it must be safe, legal and within any required test date, and we may inspect or chronograph it before use. We can refuse equipment that doesn't meet the rules.
15Clothing, belongings and food
Wear clothes and footwear suited to the activity and the weather. Clothing can get wet, muddy or marked, even under supplied coveralls. Please leave valuables at home or in your car. We're not responsible for loss or damage we didn't cause.
Food and drinks are available from our counter. Adult groups may bring their own food. Our party food has no vegetarian, vegan or allergy-safe version, so please bring suitable food for anyone who needs it and tell us about any requirements before the day.
16Spectators, behaviour and photos
Spectators are welcome in the safe areas we point out, and must stay out of active game zones and throwing bays.
We expect everyone to treat other customers, our staff and the venue with respect. Threatening, abusive or dangerous behaviour isn't accepted, and we may ask anyone behaving that way to leave.
You're welcome to take personal photos and videos as long as it doesn't affect safety or other customers. If we'd like to use identifiable photos of you for marketing, we'll ask separately.
17Our responsibility to you
We provide our activities with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
We're not responsible for losses that weren't caused by us, weren't reasonably foreseeable when you booked, or result from someone ignoring safety instructions or misusing equipment.

20Changes to these terms
